Quotations Power Banks

All the ideas you need to walk into your English Literature exam with total confidence in your quotations and the analytical skills to match.

The Power Banks are designed for pupils aiming for Grade 6 and above. There are no guided tasks or exercises. They are reference resources, packed with the kind of sophisticated analytical thinking that gets pupils into the upper levels of the mark scheme. The ideas that examiners describe as "thoughtful" and "judicious." The ones that separate a Grade 5 from a Grade 8.

These are booklets. They're tiny, about 40 pages. But a lot is squeezed in to those pages. For each of the 10 key quotations, you get the quotation in context, the key vocabulary you need to write about that section of the text precisely, and a model paragraph demonstrating exactly how to deploy those ideas at the highest level.

For each of the key characters, there's a full double-page spread covers their key quotations.

The analytical ideas in this booklet are compatible with any essay writing framework you have been taught. WCRAFT, PEA, PEEL, or anything else. Whatever acronym your teacher uses, you will be able to integrate these ideas straight into your essays. These booklets are for crunch time when pupils need clarity over which quotations they need to prioritise and what to say about them off by heart.
