The Revise in 3 Weeks guide is designed for pupils who want to understand narrative writing the way an examiner does, and write about it at the level that gets you into the top grades. Hard working pupils aiming for Grade 5 and above will get the most from this guide, though it is accessible to all.
The guide shows you the differences between low, middle and high level stories and how to use that new knowledge. Using the NARRATIVE acronym, pupils of all levels are guided through how to write about their characters in a compelling, sophisticated manner. Paragraph structures and story structures are covered clearly. By the end of this guide, you will have planned your favorite ideas and be prepared no matter what the picture or prompt may be.
The third week shifts the focus from understanding what to do to go from good to great. You work with model story snippets, looking closely at what separates a Grade 6 response from a Grade 8, and practise applying the skills you have been building throughout the guide in your own written responses.
