The Revise in 3 Weeks guide is designed for pupils who want to understand poetry the way an examiner does, and write about it at the level that gets you into the top grades. Hard working pupils aiming for Grade 5 and above will get the most from this guide, though it is accessible to all.

Each of the first two weeks works through the key poems in the cluster using fully annotated poems. You are not just reading about the poems. You are seeing how an expert reader thinks about them.

The guide then shows you how to use that knowledge. Using the GCSE Boost bookmarks, pupils of all levels are guided through how to write about the poems in detail and with real proficiency, including how to structure comparison essays with confidence. By the end of this guide, you will know exactly what to do, and you will have practised doing it.

The third week shifts the focus from understanding the poems to expression and how to improve your writing to move from clear, to thoughtful, to judicious. You work with model paragraphs, look closely at what separates a Grade 6 response from a Grade 8, and practise applying the analytical skills you have been building throughout the guide to your own written responses.

This guide focuses on the AQA Power and Conflict cluster.
